To promote the construction of student internship and employment bases, advance the integration of industry, education, and research, and explore the establishment of a school-enterprise cooperation mechanism guided by industrial needs and featuring collaborative scientific research, on April 20, Zhang Jun, Dean of the College of Food and Engineering, and Xu Shenghua, Secretary of the Party General Branch, led a team to conduct research at Bei'an Huasheng Food Co., Ltd.Vice Dean Zhao Jing, Deputy Director of the College of Food and Engineering Zhang Junshan, faculty member Gao Huan, and Bioengineering Department teacher Zhang Lan participated in the investigation. The research team received warm reception from Bei'an Municipal Standing Committee Member and Vice Mayor Sheng Zhentao, along with Huasheng Food leadership including Chairman Li Dongsheng, General Manager Wang Tianfu, Technical Director Nian Xiaodong, and Marketing Director Yuan Li.
Accompanied by the company’s leadership, the research team visited the enterprise’s product exhibition hall, organic fresh corn production workshop, and chaga mushroom functional component extraction production line. They conducted in-depth discussions with company personnel regarding the characteristics of distinctive agricultural products such as organic fresh edible corn, organic vegetables, chaga mushroom, and birch sap.
During the exchange meeting, Chairman Li Dongsheng systematically presented Huasheng Food’s strategic layout of “integrating agriculture, industry, and trade, with whole-process operation from production to processing and marketing” through the corporate promotional video. Marketing Director Yuan Li showcased a series of innovative products including ready-to-eat peeled corn kernels and chaga mushroom concentrate. Technical Director Nian Xiaodong provided specialized explanations on technologies such as the extraction of functional components from chaga mushroom and the comprehensive utilization of corn silk by-products, while outlining the enterprise’s urgently needed technical challenges and product development projects. Vice Mayor Sheng Zhentao of Bei'an City affirmed that the municipal government would fully support in-depth university-enterprise cooperation to facilitate the transformation of scientific research achievements in regional characteristic agriculture.
Zhang Jun stated that the research directions of the college of Food and Engineering are highly aligned with Huasheng Food’s industrial demands. The college will leverage the university’s resources and talent advantages to form specialized teams addressing the enterprise’s needs. Additionally, both parties reached consensus on matters including the training of enterprise laboratory personnel and the establishment of student internship bases.
